Garrick Wheeler was the first photographer I had ever shot with. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed as I was a nervous wreck before facing the camera.
Garrick sets an atmosphere much to the clients feel to create an easy environment which constantly flows.
Whether its loud music or serine silence whichever you prefer, Garrick always adapts to each client's personality.
When one is comfortable and relaxed it is easy to create beautiful flawless photographs.
Garrick has a photographic style that is elegant and timeless. He is honest and does not create raunchy demeaning photos. I have photographed with a few photographers over the recent years and Garrick is still my favourite photographer to work with. Each shoot is fun, different and the pictures are flawless every time, if you have modelled before or would like to give it a bash for the first time. I would recommend Garrick to anyone keen on doing a photo shoot.

Working with G.M. Wheeler is quite simply a pleasure, it is like visiting a friend, a very talented friend, who makes you feel totally relaxed and in tune with yourself, he will provide you with the perfect platform to showcase all that you are and then he captures it on camera, just fabulous!

Shooting with Garrick was not only a way to help me come out of my shell but a great learning experience as well.
Starting off as a beginner model and slowly being able to open up in front of the camera and ending off my 3rd shoot with Garrick as a much more confident model.
Shooting with Garrick and Monica as a team was great and i felt with just these 2 people i had a team who could create magic through a lens.

had never been in front of the camera like this before but with the help of Monica and Garrick, it was so easy getting into the groove of things.
There were moments where I swear I could almost hear Garrick’s brain working because he’s constantly changing things to make the most out of each shot. Then you also have Monica with her arsenal of makeup goodies to create any look imaginable.

All in all, I want to thank the gmWheeler duo for making my first photo shoot a ton of fun and I so want to come back for more!

Monica – your makeup skills, guidance with poses and support made all the difference in the world.
Garrick – your endless supply of accents and comedy was exactly what I needed to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

I first started shooting with Garrick Wheeler 5 years back when a friend of mine introduced me to him as one of the up and coming photographers in SA.
They were not wrong!

5 years later and I am still shooting with him, covering a diverse range of looks from fashion to fitness.
Garrick will always be one of my prefered photographers whose enthusiam and passion in his work encourages me to shoot the best I possibly can. I have always believed that a photographer needs to have certain qualities in order to make them a great photographer such as direction, focus, patience, lighting and vision. I believe that Garrick portrays all of the above, making him one of the most talented and exciting photographers around, whom I am looking forward to working with many more times in the future.

Garrick is truly a breath of fresh air in the photography industry.
He has such original ideas (see our CRIMES shoot) and knows what he wants to achieve and how to execute the look that he is going for.
If anything, I appreciate his honesty on set – he tells you what works and does not work for you.
I remember after my first shoot with him, I could not stop laughing.
He makes you feel so comfortable and allows you the time and space to find your own direction on set, which not many other photographers do!
Now having done numerous shoots with Mr Wheeler, I can honestly say that I have grown not only as a model but also as a person.
I have become so much more confident and comfortable in my own skin.
If I had to refer anyone who is looking to do a portfolio shoot, wedding shoot, or anything else, gmWheeler Photography would be number one on my list without a doubt!
